A jib crane consists of a column and a boom that pivots about the column. This crane can be used as a cost effective alternative to a bridge crane, or in situations when the four columns would take up too much space. Two types of cranes are available: the straight crane, which is more common, and the articulated crane, which is more expensive and heavier.
